I've recently been fiddling around with a new plugin for After Effects called Twixtor that can make ordinary footage look like high speed footage. I then figured that it might be interesting to mix high speed footage with some effects to create a slow motion muzzle flash. Everything here was made from scratch and a tutorial will be coming out soon! Watch here!
3d set extension is essentially taking an ordinary shot, tracking the footage, and adding extra elements such as mountains, rocks, and different sky, or anything that you need in order to set the stage for where your movie is taking place. Set extension is a very useful and commonly used tool as it enables you to set your movie in, say, a destroyed city, a jagged mountain range, or even another planet. In this tutorial series, we discuss how to get a clean 3d track with PFTrack, export the data, and then add elements to your shot in after effects to complete the shot. We also discuss things like sky replacement, color correction, and some useful compositing tips.
Here is a link to a few small test titles made using Trapcode Particular. As some of you may know, Particular is an extremely powerful 3d particle system plugin for after effects with a wide range of uses. The plugin is capable of much more than you see in this video, this was a collection of some title ideas that were all made in about 2 hours. If you haven't looked into Particular, I highly recommend it. Expect some tutorials regarding this plugin on the site soon...
